Sustainability

Acting pragmatically. Sharing responsibility. Making an impact.

Our understanding

As a congress, event, catering and hospitality company, we combine hospitality with economic viability and a responsible approach to resources and people. For us, sustainability means consistently exceeding our clients’ expectations while remaining profitable, able to invest and an attractive employer in the long term.

Four guiding principles

  1. 1

    Impact before symbolism

We focus on areas where ecological, social and economic impact can realistically be achieved.

  2. 2

    Holistic decisions

Regional, ecological, healthy and economic aspects are considered together. The most obvious solution is not always the most sustainable one.

  3. 3

    Honesty before perfection

We communicate progress and gaps openly and make no promises we cannot keep.

  4. 4

    Shared responsibility

We create good and fair conditions. Employees, partners, organisers and guests contribute to the impact through their decisions.

How we decide

These guidelines provide orientation for everyday decisions, offers, investments, procurement and collaboration. When goals conflict, we ask: which solution improves the client experience, reduces negative impact, strengthens our employees or the region, and remains financially viable for an SME?

1

Ecology

Using resources consciously

We improve our operations step by step, wherever measures are sensible, effective and affordable. Technical quality, efficient processes and the careful use of resources should reinforce each other.

2

Economy & governance

acting sustainably in the long term

3

Social

hospitality starts with the team

We do not see ourselves merely as a venue that rents out halls, but as a hospitality company. The hospitality and appreciation our guests experience also shape the way we treat each other.

4

Regional responsibility & implementation

Trafo Baden is closely connected with its location in Baden. Events bring people together and create value for the region. That is why we maintain local partnerships and support projects with a training focus, for example procurement projects carried out independently by apprentices of Libs Industrielle Berufslehren Schweiz.

Our rules of action

In our offers

  • actively offer sustainable options
  • explain the consequences of no-shows
  • respect our clients’ decisions

In our operations

  • use energy and material consciously
  • avoid waste and separate it correctly
  • take up improvements suggested by the team

In investment & purchasing

  • assess the overall impact, not a single criterion
  • give weight to durability and regional partners
  • assess costs and impact together

Further development

These guidelines are reviewed regularly and supplemented with concrete measures. Priority is given to topics where we can exert direct influence and achieve a measurable impact:

  • renewable electricity
  • assessing photovoltaics
  • food waste and waste
  • sustainable procurement
  • employee development
  • the responsible use of digital solutions

Our promise

We act pragmatically, address conflicting goals openly and improve step by step. For us, sustainability is not an add-on, but part of good hospitality and successful long-term management.
